Lockdown extends for two more weeks from May 4 to May 17
- According to the Union Health Ministry, the number of active Covid-19 cases stood at 25,007, while 8,888 people have recovered and one patient has migrated. The total number of cases includes 111 foreign nationals.
- India is taking full preparations to lift its lockdown as Centre has designated districts in three categories. The Centre today said that the country is manufacturing PPEs, ventilators and masks at fast-pace and that HCQ and medicines for lupus disease are stocked up in the country.
- According to empowered groups, 1,87,000 PPE kits are being manufactured in the country every day.
- As many 1,993 COVID-19 cases were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases to 35,043 in the country, said the Central government on Friday.The total cases are inclusive of 25,007 active cases and 8,888 cured/discharged/migrated ones, said Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary, Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry, while addressing media persons here.A total of 564 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, added Agarwal.
- The MHA today asked Railway Ministry and state governments to coordinate and facilitate the return of migrant labourers.
- In another development, the Haryana Police today sealed the Delhi-Gurugram borders, sending back scores of commuters. The policemen manning the borders only allowed passage of those associated with essential services.
